Rare Earth - Back To Earth / Rare Earth (1975/77 us, marvellous jazzy soul funky rock, 2006 remaster)

An altogether more pleasurable experience than their previous recording sesions, "Back To Earth" restored the group to the chart, its #59placing their best in three years. Singles wise the group found the going a little more difficult, with "It Makes You Happy (But It Ain't Gonna Last Too Long)" bein written by new recruits Gabriel Katona and Paul Warren and bubblingunder at #106.

With Motown shutting down the Rare Eartyh label following the release of "Midnight Lady" the group left the company. They weren't without a home for long, for long time champion Barney Ales had set up the Prodigal label, featuring an eclectic mix of artists and offered Rare Earth a new contract. Several of the Old group members joined up for the ride too, with Rare Earth at this point featuring Gil Bridges, Mike Urso, Pete Rivera and Ed Guzman along with newer recruita Ron Fransen (keyboards) and Danile Ferguson (Guitar).

Cal Harris and James Anthonh Carmaichael handled production, and whilst the resulting Rare Earth album was hardle a shattering succes, at least charting (albeit at #187) proved that they still had an audience.

  1. Thanks for this. I never really checked them out post 1973 since the band went into seriou flux then, so I always questioned the quality of their output after that point. I'm going to DL these 2 two-fers rhat you have and finally check these out. Thanks for sharing!

  5. the problem isn't the files// it's a "security warning on the link page" for part 2 of this file and Chris Farlowe - Out Of Time The Immediate Anthology "part 3" turbo

    I get THIS:

    "This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Arctic Fox to connect securely to s350.turbobit.net, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue."
Chrome gives me a different warning,m calling it a Phihsing site"

It only happens with these two links and regardless of what it says , I CAN"T continue, no matter what I try..
Since you probably logged in with your account you wouldn't ever SEE those kinds of notices, maybe try without being logged in
It's only those two links, though

  6. Couldn't help noticing your plight.
So curiosity got the better, and I tried the same link.
No warnings, or any indication of problems at my end.
I'm using Chrome with Adblock, and am very security concious.
However I only surf 'dodgy' sites on a separate laptop which I never use
    for important personal/financial matters.
This laptop is expendabe if hit by malevolent software.
So can be reinstalled in the event that ever happens.
    Which hasn't so far.
Seriously, I can't see anything here to get so stressed about.
Be brave and enjoy the music.

  7. yes, I d0n't know why it's only affecting me, and it's only ever been on part 2 that this happens, actually. TB has many different servers it uses, depending on your location, when I click download on Part 2 it goes to s350.turbobit.net. I've checked and all the files that give me that notice ate stored at that address. So it's probably only *that* server that's screwy//
So doesn't matter anyways... I got the mp3 version which DL'd just fine.. Perfectly listenable..
    Peace y'all.
