Just when you think you've discovered every cool band there ever was, along comes and unknown artist or band that whomps you up alongside the head, this is what keeps music collecting from getting dull and average. Just keep goin' down the rabbit hole!GaragePunk66https://www.blogger.com/profile/10727783651586327386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7379959197726431640.post-24212184755628583562014-06-06T22:18:09.604+03:002014-06-06T22:18:09.604+03:00Yes a wonderful post this, as always.
Wilko rates ...Yes a wonderful post this, as always.
Wilko rates very highly in my book of guitarists. Him and Richard Thompson though very different stylistically, are among my favourite UK guitar-players.Perhaps underrated in some corners? Thompson less so i believe. Besides the officially recorded output (brilliant when Wilko or Gypie Mayo were the guitarists, a bit more patchy thereafter), there are fortunately a stack of unofficial live recordings, most of radio broadcasts or audience recordings of great quality, that I have been slowly (re-)upping to the Web. Check this post and above all, as always with Dave Sez posts, read the comments there, as I add in links to other recordings:

(adult consent required because the blogmaster includes pictures of babes):

http://floppybootstomp-ii.blogspot.com/2014/03/doctor-feelgood-live-paris-1979.html

(Not a Wilko gig, but the comments contain Down At The Stupid Beat and Detroit 1976, both highly recommended; regrets, the Geordie Scene video is down, otherwise all links live as of now)

and

http://floppybootstomp-ii.blogspot.com/2014/03/wilko-johnson-live-japan-france-and.html.

If our gracious host would like more live Feelgoods/Wilko, I would be happy to oblige, just leave me a word in these comments ... cheers, Dave Sez.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7379959197726431640.post-91530602074279582262014-06-06T15:46:45.407+03:002014-06-06T15:46:45.407+03:00Holy crap, this is awesome stuff.
